Today in Scott Class we have been working on our writing called super sentences. Our writing is about writing sentences that make sense. We had seven different ways to make our super sentences better.  It was really fun using those ways to make my sentence better. These are the ways to make it better.

1. Add in words
2. Drop chunks of information
3. Add on at the end
4. Add on at the beginning
5. Change words
6. Add a simile
7. Alliterate  

Week 6 Siva Afi

Hello Blog World,

Today Scott Class has been Writing about Siva Afi. You must be wondering what is Siva Afi, well Siva Afi is a dance that is in Samoan. We have been writing this because it was Samoan Language Week.
We have been reading Siva Afi also Siva Afi is a interesting. What I have learned about Siva Afi that you mostly use a weapon called a Nifo Oti. Also I learned that the Nifo Oti is heavy and dangerous.

WALT use precise nouns.

This week in writing we have been using precise nouns to make our writing more specific for the reader.


We took a paragraph and changed the nouns from general nouns to precise nouns.

Here is a example.

In the weekend I had to do lots of shopping with my Mum. We went to the shop diary to get some food. We also went to look for a present for my cousin’s birthday. I had to choose between a barbie,minion  doll and a soft toy . After that we went to the shop to buy some clothes, I got two new cloths items and a pair of  footwear shoes. Because I had been so good, mum took me to the shop to buy an  trumpet, cookie ice block ice block. Lucky me

Rugby World Cup 2015 4 sentence Recount

Yesterday we wrote a recount about the Rugby World Cup, because the All Blacks won.

This Term in Writing I am going to be working on my learning goals.


My Learning goals are :

Add prefixes and suffixes to build new words.

Use known spelling patterns to spell new words.


I will know I have achieved these goals when I can show evidence of these in my writing.

We are learning to write an information report about a topic related to space.

By Friday 5 June you need to have written and edited your information report on a topic related to space so that it is ready to be published.

Hi i am going to tell you all about Saturn.Did you know Saturn is the second largest planet in our Solar System.

Appearance

Saturn has rings they are made out of dust ice and pieces of rocks.It is a gas giant just like Jupiter.Saturn rings aren't very thick.And the rings look glimmering.Even Saturn is still huge.

Size

Although  Saturn is the second largest planet in our Solar System and Saturn is

20,000.Saturn KM and Saturn is not heavy at all.Also only Jupiter is more bigger than the other planets except the sun.

Rings

Also Saturn’s rings are made of pieces of rocks and dust,ice and it is famous for it rings.
